Day 7: Link your pages internally | 30-Days SEO Course

Your homepage is the most important and probably the most powerful page. The link juice is distributed from the homepage to all subpages. Ideally, you should distribute the link juice evenly to all other sub-pages through internal links and simple navigation menus.

Unified internal links also allow you to control search engine robots. The logical link structure allows the robot to crawl and index your website systematically. Controlling link power can also tell bots which pages are most important.

Link Your Pages Internally

Some pages on your website may not link to any other pages. These are called "orphan pages", and if the bot finds such a page, the bot can only move between links, so it is forced to stop crawling.

Tips:

  • Remove links to error pages (status code 404) or pages that cannot be accessed (status code 500).
  • Identify orphan pages and link them to sub-pages related to other topics.
